The objective is to assign time for tasks like buyouts, production, and assembly based on the available resources. Including details like total man-hours, vacation time, and other variables that might impact assembly hour counts would be valuable. This approach would help us better forecast potential timeline issues and account for associated risks.

Discussed this with Kilen, who mentioned this is TBD and would be part of Capacity Planning.

Yes, depending on the exact use case, likely many of these requests can be organized under the as-yet-not-defined umbrella of "capacity planning". COUNTERPART does not currently support assigning resources according to availability, nor do we offer projections of future resource usage.

COUNTERPART does support different budget categories for jobs. If you want to track, e.g., material handling labor costs vs engineering labor costs that is supported now.

In the engineering-to-order context, projecting timelines for building an item that has never been built before is an understandably complex and non-deterministic task. If the Smooth Logics team decides to build functionality within that nebulous umbrella, we will be sure to let the community know as appropriate.

I’ve been reviewing the Budget/Forecast section, and the setup looks pretty straightforward. It seems like it could really help address the needs you outlined above.

I think the next step might be to test it out with a sample job. What do you think?

          Thanks

I'd say go for it! Schedule time with us if you have specific questions we can answer or if you'd just like help with the setup!
