Multiple Purchase Order Number Support in Sales

Need to have the ability to support a PO number for each line item in sales.
This is needed to support when a customer supplies multiple purchase orders for a project.
Say they break out mechanical engineering: different PO.
This functionality could also be used for engineering changes, engineering changes typically come with a different PO number.
